The Blizzard of 09

Well, today we got the worst snow storm in Maryland in many many years. I guess some areas have gotten almost 2 feet of snow. We have maybe a foot and a half or so at our house. This is actually a massive snow storm for Maryland. The news reported it as the 7th largest snowfall on record. It's still coming down a bit out there, and flurries are expected until tomorrow morning. Mid afternoon Nate and Jesse went out to check things out. I eventually joined them. Nate thought it was pretty cool that the snow was so deep.

Jesse's primary goal of this snowfall is to make a large snow mound. This is just small compared to what he can do in the next few days. It is pretty cold here, so the snow is dry and powdery, so not so good for snowmen. Maybe in the next few days it'll get better for packing.

At this point the snow is about even with the bottom of the windows in the front of our house.
