Washington DC

This past week one of my brothers, Tim, came out to visit for a few days with 3 of his kids. First of all, these kids are such great kids. Even Eric who was much older than any of my kids was super nice about playing with everyone, and being kind. And Rachel and Jenna are just so cute. Jenna is such a tiny little thing, it's hard to believe she's a month older than Graham! But I just loved spending time with these kids while they were here. One of the greatest things about living so close to my mom is that when the siblings come and visit her, I get to leech onto the visit. :) On the first day that they were here, we went down to Baltimore to play at the Science Center. I forgot my camera that day. Maybe one day I'll figure out how to load pictures from the phone onto the computer. The next day we went down to DC. One day I'd like to go to DC and see something other than the kid's discovery room and Transportation exhibit at the American History, and the Hall of Mammals, and Dinosaurs at the Natural History museums. But that's what the kids like, so that's what we go and see. I guess it's better to keep Nate and Graham happy than to see something new that they don't care about at all. :)

It was FREEZING that day, and cold. Eric wanted to see the White house, so we walked down to the Washington Monument so that they could look at it from afar. Then they decided that they really wanted to walk down to the Lincoln Monument. Tim was willing to take them, so Tim trekked down there, with 5 kids, while my mom and I went back to the American History Museum to try to warm Olivia up.

All in all, it was a fun day, and I'm glad that I was able to spend time with Tim and his kids, even though they really did come out to visit with Grandma!

Great Expectations

Today while at Wal Mart I picked up some $5 Spiderman shirts for the boys. As has already been established, my boys are into a major super hero phase. Graham even wears his Superman costume everywhere we go (including Wal Mart today- he always gets lots of comments- "Hi Superman!")
Anyway, as I picked up Nate from the bus stop and we were walking home, I told Nate that I had gotten him a surprise from the store today. The first thing that he said was "Ooooh, is it a (Nintendo) DS?" At which point I laughed and said "no." He then asked, "Is it an iPad?"
Don't stop dreaming kid!

Randoms

Just a few random moments from the past week. Moment number one is the first time that all 3 kids have played together. OK, so Olivia was really just kind of watching, but she was right there, wanting to be in the action. It was pretty cute. On Sunday I came downstairs from quiet time to find this:
Graham had laid down on the floor with a tiny little couch pillow, covered himself with his blanket and fallen asleep while watching Veggie Tales with Nate and Jesse. He sure is cute when he sleeps!

Catoctin Wildlife Preserve

So this past Saturday we packed everyone up and headed up to the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve. Our membership expires in another week, and we won't be renewing this year, so we wanted to get one last visit out of it. We saw all of the animals that were out, there are still a few that are indoors until the weather gets a little warmer. It was Olivia's first time being big enough to look at things.
We had a lot of fun on the animal statues. (All 2 of them.)

(Look at how skinny I'm getting!)
Eventually Olivia got worn out. We actually went to see Tangled that morning, so it was a full day, and Olivia is not so interested in napping unless she's in her bed. She lasted until we were just about to leave, and then she fell asleep.

Look what I can do!

I can ride the Winnie the Pooh train all by myself!

It's a bird, it's a plane!

We often see Superman around our house. Olivia was less than thrilled about it though.
