Random photos

So nothing much has been happening this month. Nate had swim lessons for two weeks, and he did pretty well. Well enough to move up to the next class, but the thought of two more weeks of having to be at swim lessons at 9am makes me sick, so we'll wait until next summer. But he's much more comfortable in the water now, so that's good. Other than that, I've just been extending my nesting, and been cleaning and organizing around the house, which has been greatly needed! So since nothing interesting has happened, here are just some random photos. This was not posed, I just glanced over one day, and there her tiny little foot was all that was sticking out of the cover.
Happy sleeping baby.

This was a few days after Graham did a nose dive on the driveway at my mom's house. But I just love that little face! (scabby nose and all!)
And here's Nate, smiling away. They usually love to cheese it up for the camera, just so they can see themselves afterwards.
Tiny shoes and socks. Olivia has a million pairs of shoes already, but she has such skinny little feet, that they are all way too big for her. I finally found these little black Mary Jane style shoes that are perfect for church.
This was the dress that I got specifically for her to wear to her first week of church. It's pretty big for being a 0-3 mos, so she'll be able to wear it for a while, which is good, since I love the dress. When it gets cold, I even have a little white sweater that she can wear with it.
So there you have it. It's been insanely hot this summer, and since I can't swim for another week, we've just been staying inside mostly. I think I heard that it's supposed to get out of the high 90s this next week though, so that'll be a relief, and we did have a thunderstorm this afternoon that lasted a while, always nice to get a little rain. Hopefully we can have a few fun little adventures in August, and it'll be a more interesting month than July has been!

More Glamour Shots

On Sunday I got the disc that had the results of Olivia's photo shoot that my friend Ashley took. This is one of my favorites: One where she is dressed and awake:

Tiny ear:

Tiny fist:
And is it weird that I want to print this picture and frame it and put it on the wall with the rest of the family photos? Ashley should go into animal photography. That day while we were taking a nursing break trying to get Olivia to go to sleep Lizzie thought that she would like to just take over the photo shoot.
So thanks Ashley, now I need to figure out which ones to print out and put where.

Round one

When Olivia was a week and a half old my friend Ashely came over to take some infant photos. She set up right there on my dining room table. It didn't go as smoothly as hoped since Olivia just would not fall into a deep sleep, so she kept on waking up and wiggling around, and not keeping a pose. These are the first photos that Ashely sent me last night. I can't wait to see the rest of them!

A tale of two boys

Last night at 10:15, this is what one of our children looked like: This is what the other one looked like:
And this is why Nate no longer takes naps I guess, he's up all night when he does. He was still wide awake at 11 when I went to bed.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

... my child is a freak.
Tonight we had someone bring us a nice normal dinner. Macaroni and cheese, salad with zucchini, some extra zucchini, orange slices, and dessert.
What was Nate's favorite part? The only part that he even ate?
The zucchini.

Firsts

Last night Olivia had her first sponge bath. Interestingly enough, it happened right after her first diaper blow out. But her first week of life she didn't spit-up very much, so she didn't need a bath, however, the past 2 days she has spit-up a little more, so she was starting to smell. She didn't mind getting her face cleaned. She didn't like getting her hands and arms and neck cleaned. She loved getting her hair washed. It makes me want to wash her hair every night just because she seemed to like it so much! Hooray for clean babies!

Swimming fun

This week we finally set up the blow up pool on our deck. I was worried that Graham was going to have nothing to do with it again this year, however, he seems to love swimming all of the sudden. That is, as long as he doesn't get splashed too much! But they have asked to go swimming pretty much every day, several times a day since we set it up. It's nice that they can swim here, since it'll be another month or so before I can even consider taking them to a real pool. And then of course, there's the issue of what to do with the baby while we are swimming. So yeah, good thing we have this pool for the kids!
